Coaching Standards

Our coaching standards are aligned with those defined by Sport England and OFSTED. Our coaches undergo regular review and assessment (at least every half term).  We are committed to ongoing improvement and work within a framework of ‘setting-monitoring-reviewing’ performance management targets.

All sessions are designed in accordance with the new OFSTED framework.

OFSTED inspectors have acknowledged that all Primary Sports & Education staff:

Are 23+ years old with 2 years minimum experience of the ‘primary school’ environment

Have Level 2 NGB/UKCC award/NVQ III/Sports coaching or a teaching relevant degree

Hold a clear Enhanced DBS through Primary Sports

Hold current certificates in Level 2 Paediatric First Aid 

Are recruited in accordance with our Safer Recruitment policy

At least Level 2 safeguarding trained and are Multi-skills/Multi-sport trained

Attend regular in-house sports and CPD courses

Are covered by Employers and Public Liability insurance (£10m limit of indemnity)

Supported and directed via our comprehensive policy portal

Work to Risk Assessment standards appropriate to the Primary School sector
