History Of Primary Sports:

Primary Sports and Education (Formally Sporting World Sport Services (Devon) Ltd) have been operating in the South West for 10 years and delivering over 500 hours of sports coaching per week. The company is rapidly growing into one of the leading sports coaching organisations in the South West. We also have two sister companies who provide Forest school and Music provision.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, a good communicate, is able to work within a team, to organise and manage their own after-school and holiday camps and to promote the company within other local schools and community.

Full Time Position available for Wellington & Exeter

Job Description:

The role is full time, hours are 25 per week at two Primary Schools in Wellington and Exeter. Candidates must have worked in a school environment delivering to a full range of children and be prepared to deliver several our programmes such as curriculum time coaching, Continued personal development (CPD training, wellbeing and PSHE scheme afterschool and Breakfast clubs, Fun Fit, Sherborne, Gifted and talented schemes and holiday camps.

We also expect the successful candidate to be vibrant, fun, confident, reliable, well presented, punctual, and present at all staff meetings, follow the programmes which we have written, to build positive relationships with teachers, children and parents in the school, be able to feedback to class teachers about sessions provide assessments at the end of each programme and organise inter-house/school tournaments within their schools.

Rates of pay: £12-£15.00 depending on experience/qualifications and which programme is being delivered.

Candidates must have:

  • NGB Level 2 qualification
  • Clean driving licence
  • Passion for sport
  • Clear Enhanced DBS
  • Current First Aid and Child protection certificates
  • High Levels of coaching ability and beliefs in maintaining those standards
  • Experience of working in a primary school environment
  • Experience of coaching a wide range of sports to primary aged children
  • Knowledge of the new OFSTED framework/curriculum
  • Knowledge of the GDPR laws and regulations
  • Competent in literacy and numeracy at Level 3 Standard
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Coaches will be asked to attend an interview, complete a practical assessment and participate in a 4 week shadow programme working alongside a lead coach.

Successful candidate will be expected to start on Monday 24th August 2020
