  • Greg Mugford has been employed and will based at The Castle Primary School. Greg is a Level 2 Football and multi-skills coach who has previously worked for Sportystars and Premier sport. We are very much looking forward to having him working within our team.
  • The Beacon Primary School - Our Year 5 and 6s are focusing on the attacking and defending principles within Invasion games. Our Year 1s and 2s are following a rugby skill programme and the foundation children are learning fundamentals such as Agility, balance, Co-ordination and team work. We also have a former student Megan Poole in Year 9 at Exmouth community college working toward her Duke of Edinburgh award. Our KS2 Tag rugby team are getting ready for the interschool competition that we have later in the term. Our Quicksticks team took part in the friendly community event organised by ECC and the team won 3 games and drew 1.
  • Marpool Primary School - The Year 5 classes focus this term is on Quicksticks and Uni-hoc. We are looking at all aspects of the game that include passing, dribbling, shooting and creating space. The children are building up towards playing in an interclass competition where they will be able to apply their skills in an competitive environment. Our after-school club this term has been Netball and we are building up to games that we are going to play against local schools next term.
  • Tag Rugby Tournament on Wednesday 7th February - We have our annual Tag Rugby Tournament coming up on Wednesday 7th February at Woodbury Primary School. We have the following teams taking part - Axminster, The Beacon, Lympstone, Topsham, St Nicholas A, St Nicholas B, Newton Poppleford A, Newton Poppleford B, Otterton, Woodbury A, Woodbury B and Bassetts Farm. The tournament report and images will follow.
